Special Olympics Ulster Polar Plunge 2011

Special Olympics Ulster is organising a unique fundraising event, to be held in the grounds of Belfast City Hall on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 March 2011.

It’s a 24-hour ‘Polar Plunge’; an endurance test unlike any other. Basically, we’re asking a core team of fifty people to jump into a pool of ice-cold water once every hour for an entire day – at the tail-end of winter! For that privilege, these kind souls have to raise loads of money for Special Olympics.

In addition, we are asking Belfast bars to raise £500 to sacrifice one member of staff – preferably the manager! – to do a one-off plunge at some stage during the 24 hours.

Special Olympics is a great organisation. Our athletes are worth supporting. So let’s get “Freezin’ for a Reason!”

Get involved in our ‘Polar Plunge' – and help us to keep Changing Lives!

For more information on this event, please call Ronan McCay (Ulster Regional Fundraising Co-ordinator, Special Olympics Ireland)
